Little Souls!
Marguerite writes in her journal the following prayer to Father L.
who was one of her first spiritual guides.
She confessed that the expression “Little Souls”
had rather disappointed her.


Do you recall the words
you spoke to me one day
when taking me back home;
you looked  at me somewhat strangely and told me:
“You! You will be
a little soul of the Good Lord!”
I think of my reaction.
I had not understood
that you were then predicting
what has become a reality: a little soul.
I should have meditated on that title
which had rather
disappointed me at that time.

The spirituality proposed to the Little Souls
is that of  “the spiritual childhood”
presented by Jesus in the Gospel,
lived by Theresa of Lisieux
and converted into reality, today,
by the reminders
of the Message of Merciful Love: 
a simple method of sanctification
based on humility, confidence,
abandon and renunciation of oneself.
